"Slide Rule Instruction Guide, Photos And Information
Etc."

Pickett manufactured large slide
rules for mounting in the class room. They came in 4 foot and 7 foot versions.
The stock and slide are of plywood (tounge and grooved), the end brackets are
sheet aluminum. The cursor consisted of pine with aluminum paint, with a clear
plastic lens. Both sizes came with metal eye loops for hanging from a wall or
ceiling.
This is a large slide rule that is made to hang on the wall of the classroom
above the chalk board. The teacher sticks his or her finger in a hole and hauls
(pulls) the
tongue back and forth.
If the teacher is not paying attention he or she may then can get his finger cut clean off when it hits
the metal end. It is made of yellow painted plywood and measures
84 x 10.5 x 0.75 inches closed.

supplied these slide rule instructional pamphlets free to the schools with a
minimum purchase of 24 normal slide rules.
